Serving Clients

One of my clients is a woman I like to call a "super networker". She operates three different businesses, knows thousands of people, and speaks brilliantly on practically any subject. But she doesn't write very well and she doesn't enjoy writing.

So I stay ready for her calls. "Vanessa, I need a page for xyz networking group. Make this one in shades of green and include my abc business info." Or, "I want to get into this trade journal. Will you write me an article about gizmos and include point 1, point 2, point 3 and point 4?" And there's my favorite, "Vanessa, let's make this month's newsletter about sunshine."

In other words, she describes what she needs and I get it done for her.

Another one of my clients is a very good writer. She is wise, sensitive, kind and generous. And she's very, very busy. In addition to taking care of a family and operating a successful business - producing and selling an excellent product - she also helps run several online forums and is very active in her community and several important causes.

She writes a newsletter and dozens of informative articles, blog entries and network forum posts every month. When hiring me to be her VA (virtual assistant) she explained that she had neither the time nor the desire to learn about website design. So I re-designed her website and update it regularly. I also edit, format and send out her newsletter.

I consider both of these women dear friends as well as clients. And I've never met either of them face to face.
